This session was tricky. It’s that time of year where bugs are just everywhere… there’s really no way around it. Namibia was set on getting some images in a green space and when she sent me the link for the olive green maternity gown she had ordered I immediately had a vision of what I wanted the photos to look like… so it was just a matter of finding the right location. Luckily much of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach is covered in these beautiful woods so didn’t have to look too far before we found the right location for maternity portraits. Unfortunately it’s that time of year where bugs are plentiful and during the session we were slowly (actually quickly) being eaten alive by mosquitos. Namibia and Tony were amazing to stick with me and let me keep shooting when I told them “FREEZE! THIS IS THE MONEY SHOT!” and oh gosh it seriously was!
I genuinely can’t wait for Tony & Namibia to be parents next month. I know they’re going to be amazing! Seriously they are so sweet, fun-loving, and have the kindest hearts. They’re going to rock the parenting thing. We went to breakfast after their session and bonded over our mutual love of travel & foods that can be covered in syrup. I’m so fortunate to have already been asked to photograph their little girl in her first days.
