Let me just start off with saying that I had a BLAST with Maddie! Our whole session together was spent just joking and laughing and getting those pearly whites and dimples to shine. I think we did a pretty stellar job 🙂
I’ve actually known Maddie’s mom Kim for years! We met in Europe where we bonded over photography. Kim has some AMAZING shots of the Sicilian landscape and our favorite thing ever… geep! It had been a few years since we’d seen each other, so when she reached out for me to do Maddie’s senior photos I jumped on the chance to photograph her sweet girl, but also reconnect!  Kim also gets infinite bonus points for giving us a bottle of wine to take home after the session. Seriously, presents are always welcome. 😉
If it had been up to Kim, beach photos would have been the way to go for this session, but Maddie wanted something a little different so we searched for a cool location nearby their hometown of Stafford, VA and eventually settled on Chatham Manor in Fredericksburg, VA. A three hour drive for me, but SO worth it! I think we’re all pretty excited about how it turned out! We kept our fresh and vibrant style, but still incorporated pieces of this beautiful historic site. The balance of the two is really fun and playful, perfect for Maddie!
If you live anywhere along the East coast then you know this winter has been 700 days long and just wont go away, but we got lucky and the first toasty day in quite some time. It was also super windy, which gave us a bit of a challenge, but also the opportunity for some Beyonce level wind blown hair. Gorgeous!
Of course we had to get some shots with Mom.
