The first half of our 2015 Christmas vacation trip was to London! We spent four days in London this past July, but it was a totally new experience being in this beautiful city during the winter. It was gorgeous during the day and nice and chilly at night. We were so thankful to have brought our big winter coats to keep us warm after the sun went down.
We saw The Force Awakens in IMAX 3D
Food is definitely one of the big reasons that we travel and London has some of the best food out there! We hate lots of the local cuisine at the markets and also went to some of our old favorites: Burger & Lobster and of course Starbucks.
Next, we were onto BERLIN!
Berlin was significantly colder than London and we needed our winter coats pretty much at all times! Gluhwein and delicious treats kept us warm at night and we enjoyed little fire pits at the markets as well.
While in Berlin we visited four Christmas markets. One we visited daily was at the base of our hotel, making it super convenient to pop down for a quick bite to eat in between watching Christmas movies.
Our hotel was awesome by the way. We stayed at the Park Inn at Alexanderplatz on the 29th floor giving us an absolutely amazing view of our central location. We could see three Christmas markets from our window and one of Berlin’s most famous sights, the TV tower.
Our favorite market in Berlin was just a 10 minute walk to the other side of the TV tower. The market had a huge ferris wheel, a beautiful ice skating rink, tons of shopping and delicious foods. We were able to get tons of beautiful christmas ornaments for ourselves and friends, experienced awesome german traditions and made some great memories together.
My favorite souvenirs were from this little stand with handprinted ornaments from Ukraine.
Our favorite souvenir from all of our trips to Berlin are 2 Euro Photo Booth strips from these vintage booths!
