This family! This is the sweetest family you’ll ever meet! We “met” awhile back online and have always been super friendly and chatty, so when Missy contacted me about booking a family/anniversary portrait session at Disney I knew I had to find a way to make it work!
Okay, a little info about this session: We did these photos on July 3rd in Magic Kingdom and a HUGE summer storm was rolling in. The skies were nearly black for parts of this session and Disney even had to close down some rides because lighting strikes were being reported just a few miles away! I didn’t originally intend to shoot much in this little Fantasyland Train Station area that you’ll see in these first images, but I had a few reasons to do so. 1) I wanted to keep us in the Fantasyland area while we prayed that the storm would pass and we could get on Dumbo (their favorite ride) and 2) It’s not often that you find an empty area in a theme park during summer, so we had to make the most of it! I’m all about going with the flow and seizing little opportunities that come your way. We eventually did get to ride Dumbo, but in the meantime I love how these images turned out and that we were able to make a fun little nook of the park work so well for us!
Pause. I want to talk about this kid right here! He’s the most polite, thoughtful, and all well rounded 13 year old I’ve EVER met! When the storm was coming in he was so worried that his Mom wouldn’t be able to ride Dumbo in these images that we’d been planning. Now this session was really a 19th anniversary session for Mom and Dad, but when we asked him to hop into a few images, he obliged and said “I know this will make my mom happy, so I appreciate you doing this for her and for us.” Literally, how amazing is that!?! Do we love Elijah or do we love Elijah!? ?
